Testimonials About Abi Ardianda's Work

" Abi’s expertise in building story suspense further develops in this book. Readers are challenged to find clues piece by piece and assemble them into a complete building through the mystery of Laila’s disappearance. The issue she raised this time is not only intriguing, but also important. She has succeeded in concocting an exciting mix of mystery, thriller and psychological drama. "

Andina Dwifatma / award-winning novelist

" The inner struggles of the characters in this novel feel close to us. The length of each chapter is just right, giving readers the energy to continue being curious. Following her first novel, Abi’s DNA is already felt in this second novel. I was very happy to be able to enjoy the mystery of the story and the drama of every dimension of the characters’ lives. "

Putri Ayudya, actress

" Since the first page, I was alerted about what would happen on the next page. The guesses I built slowly collapsed when Abi started to reveal surprises through the story and the characters. There is no room to stop. "

Nacota Yeshida, journalist

" Through calm yet sharp storytelling, Abi leads us through the doors of mysteries that she‘d constructed with strict planning. We drift through layers of secrets and encounter surprise after surprise. "

Norman Erikson Pasaribu, author

" This kind of thriller slowly rolls toward visual horror, and scenes that will resonate with [readers] for a long time. Roaming around with Sonja and Mega is both nerve-wracking and heartbreaking. We know nothing about what is stored behind the facade of perfection. Don’t be fooled by a mirage: this psychological thriller proves it to you. "

Triskaidekaman, author

" Opened with a delivered quietly yet abruptly shocking scene, Night Club in the Convenience Store is such a promising debut by Abi Ardianda. The lively narrative, rich diction, and unusual theme will slowly captivate you from the first page. "

Ika Natassa, author

" Reading this book is very much alike eating a sandwich and we have to guess the layers of its filling, but it turned out that we were that sandwich all along. That’s Abi for you, with her craftiness in making layered sandwich of stories. "
